Primary bone cancer – Primary bone cancers : osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing’s sarcoma
- Is a rare disease (< 0,2% of all new cancer cases)
- 2500 – 3000 new cases in Europe each year
- Affects a young population (43% of cases are under 34)
- 5-years survival rate of primary bone cancers is less than 60%
- Metastatic disease has a poor prognostic (5-years survival <30%)

- Bone is one of the most common site of cancer spreading affects 1,5 million cancer patients worldwide
- Metastases to the bone are mostly incurable
